Sancho still top of the bill for United in summer deal
UNITED are still prioritising a move for Jadon Sancho amid reports they have planned a move for Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman.
Reports claim United want Coman, 24, if they fail to secure the signing of Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, who want in excess of EUR100million for the England international.
The M.E.N. previously reported United are prepared to turn to fall-back targets if they fail to qualify for the Champions League next season, which effectively scuppered a deal for Sancho last year. United turned to fall-back option Daniel James.
However, United are still intent on signing Sancho, 20, nearly three years after they attempted to prise him from City.
The M.E.N. understands Coman could be of consideration as a loan in the event of a Plan B should they not sign Sancho.
United sources have previously derided the club’s track record of signing injuryprone players from Bayern after a move for Jerome Boateng was vetoed towards the end of the 2018 summer transfer window. Coman missed two months of last season through injury and United bought midfielders Owen Hargreaves and Bastian Schweinsteiger from Bayern eight years apart.
Bayern have briefed to German confidants they have no interest in selling Coman, contracted to the club until 2023, despite recently recruiting fellow winger Leroy Sane from City.
Bayern are unlikely to make the loan signings of Ivan Perisic and Philippe Coutinho permanent following the retirement of Arjen Robben and release of Franck Ribery last year.
