SANCHEZ COULD GO OTHER WAY IN DEAL FOR PERISIC
UNITED are in discussions with Inter Milan over a swap deal involving Alexis Sanchez and Ivan Perisic – according to reports.
Sanchez joined the Italian side last summer on a season-long loan and various outlets in Italy suggest Inter are keen to keep the Chilean on a permanent basis.
The former Arsenal star has emerged as a key player for Antonio Conte since the restart of the season, scoring twice and registering seven assists in seven starts since the enforced break from action.
Reports claim United are in discussions with Inter over a swap deal that would see Sanchez stay in Italy and bring Croatian international Perisic to Old Trafford.
The 31-year-old has spent the season on loan at Bayern Munich after being deemed surplus to requirements last summer.
Perisic was a target for United during Jose Mourinho’s spell in the dugout. The Reds had a £40million offer rejected for the winger back in 2018 and opted to pursue other targets after failing to meet Inter’s £50m valuation.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa manager Dean Smith has revealed Jack Grealish’s future at the club will be resolved next month.
United are interested in a move for the playmaker and will look to sign him this summer following Villa’s survival on the final day of the Premier League season.
Grealish might have already handed Villa the perfect farewell present after he netted the vital opening goal in their 1-1 draw with West Ham over the weekend, with the point enough to secure a 17th place finish in the top-flight.
United will persevere with plans to sign their top targets this summer after they themselves secured Champions League qualification on the final day of the season, with Grealish one player they are eager to sign.
United had been waiting for confirmation of the club’s Champions League status before pushing on with their summer business, and now they’ve been told how long they have to complete a deal for Grealish.
“I said to him he would come to the party and score,” Smith said “He has been getting better and better. He has come good when he needed to.
“It (his future) will all be sorted over the next month. Tonight we will enjoy a magnificent achievement. It feels better than when we went up through the play-offs.”
The transfer window will close on October 5, although clubs will still be allowed to trade with EFL clubs until October 16.
