Barca wonderkid reveals his move to United

- By SAMUEL LUCKHURST

MARC Jurado appears to have signalled his imminent move to United from Barcelona.

The Reds agreed a deal to sign the 16-year-old in May and the rightback’s reply to a Bruno Fernandes post on Instagram all but confirmed his transfer as he wrote: ‘We keep fighting.’

United are still yet to announce the arrival of Jurado, who is awaiting international clearance along with Alvaro Fernandez, 17, from Real Madrid. Norwegian Isak-Hansen Aaroen, who turns 16 this week, is due to arrive from Tromso.

Sources in Spain say Jurado rejected a three-year contract offer from Barcelona and United will only have to pay the Catalans a small compensation fee.

The Reds signed Spaniards Arnau

Puigmal and Mateo Mejia to their academy in recent years but Jurado is bound to generate comparisons with Gerard Pique, who switched from Barcelona to United aged 17 in 2004.

New academy signings Joe Hugill, Logan Pye, and Radek Vitek have already started training with United. The club fought off competition from Arsenal and Tottenham to agree a £300,000 deal with Sunderland for striker Hugill, 16, and defender Pye, also 16, was previously at Sunderland as well.

Keeper Vitek, 16, has joined from Sigma Olomouc.

Meanwhile, United youngster Oliver Denham is on trial with Cardiff City. The 18-year-old defender, who can play either as a centre-back or right-back, has represented Wales at youth level and could be set for a return to his home nation.
