Thug’s threat to ‘bite face off’ ex-girlfriend
A THUG launched a violent attack on his ex-girlfriend - and threatened to ‘bite her face off.’
Keith Dube, 27, kicked his former partner, stamped on her and gave her a bloody nose.
A court heard he met the woman at a Tesco store before returning to his Salford home on July 23.
An unnamed woman knocked on the door and challenged Dube’s ex, accusing her of swearing at her child, Manchester Crown Court heard.
Dube grabbed his former partner’s hair and, dragging her backwards, told her: “You little b **** , you always cause s**t.”
He kicked her repeatedly in the back, before she ran upstairs.
Dube, from Eccles, Salford, threatened to ‘bite her face off,’ before slamming her into a door after she tried to call a friend for help.
After managing to flee, the woman later returned to Dube’s house to collect a suitcase.
As she arrived, he swung a metal bar and smashed the rear passenger window of the car she was in, telling her: “I told you you would f ***** g get it.”
Initially entering mixed pleas, Dube, of Mount Street, later admitted assault occasioning actual bodily harm; criminal damage and breaching a restraining order.
He has now been sentenced to two years and seven months and made the subject of a restraining order.
Prosecuting, Geoff Whelan earlier told the court Dube and his victim were in a relationship from July 2019 to January 2020.
Numerous court orders have been imposed to prevent contact.
He told the court that during the attack, Dube told his ex: “You really are dead, you little b **** .”
After being arrested, Dube initially denied the assault and claimed the allegations were ‘malicious,’ suggesting the woman injured herself.
In a statement read to the court, the victim said: “This has left me in fear. I felt like I was walking on eggshells around him, I wasn’t myself.
“My self-esteem was affected, I avoided looking at myself in the mirror and believed I needed to be a bit thinner, or dye my hair or wear makeup so that I would be better for him.
“He caused a strain on my relationships, I lost my friendships with three close friends as they couldn’t understand why I kept going back to him.”
Dube has previous convictions, including for using threatening behaviour and battery.
Defence lawyer Anna Chesnutt said: “No excuse can be offered for these offences.
“However, she sought out contact with him and voluntarily made her way to his address, but that is no excuse for what occurred thereafter.”
