Prize guy Davis in a bid to add more goals

- By DAVE CROWTHER-GREEN

OLDHAM will look to bounce back from their midweek defeat to Barrow when they face Carlisle United today.

Latics travel to Brunton Park looking for a first win in four and come up against a side also struggling for form.

The Cumbrians have been leaders this season but have lost three of their last four in League Two, most recently conceding an 88th-minute winner to lose 3-2 to Tranmere Rovers on Tuesday.

That run has looked to slightly derail Chris Beech’s side’s promotion push, leaving them three points outside the playoffs, but they do have up to four games in hand on some of their promotion rivals.

And one player that will be looking to make the difference for Oldham this afternoon is winger Davis Keillor-Dunn, who picked up the League Two Goal of the Month award for his late winner against Salford at Boundary Park in January.

The award caps off an impressive month for the 23-year-old in which he scored three times in four games to also win PFA Fans’ Player of the Month in the same period.

Upon receiving the award he said: “The goal itself, I think it’s more of the occasion it was scored and what it meant for everyone at the time.

“It was a nice tidy instinctive finish and with it being late on and the winner it’s up there with one of my best efforts.

“It’s great to get an award like this and caps off a really good month for me when I look back at it.

“It’s up to me now though to keep performing consistently and look to keep adding goals to my game.”
