‘Chelsea are starting to gel’, warns skipper

- By RICHARD FAY

HARRY Maguire has warned his United team-mates about the recent tactical changes Chelsea have made.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are back in action today when they travel to Stamford Bridge for a pivotal clash in their Premier League campaign.

It will be the first time the Reds have faced Chelsea since their decision to sack Frank Lampard last month, with former Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel now at the helm.

The London side are still unbeaten since the German took charge and Reds captain Maguire has warned his team-mates about their opponents style of play which has seen an emphasis on build-up play and defensive solidity.

“Obviously, Chelsea’s going to be a tough game but we went there last year and won and we’ll be looking to do that again,” Maguire told club media.

“They’re keeping their position very nicely and build up really well and [are] not conceding many goals, so it’s a good start [for them]. We’re hoping to spoil that.”

It will be the first time United have faced Tuchel in the Premier League and Maguire is impressed by the response the Blues have had to their managerial change.

They’re a great group of players with tons of talent and the money they spent in the summer

He added: “It’s a great reaction [to the change]. They’re a great group of players with tons of talent and the money they spent in the summer, they’re starting to gel, starting to tick, but we’ve got to look at ourselves, first and foremost.

“We go into the game full of confidence, full of belief.

“We’ll make sure we play to the ability of what we’re capable of and go and get the three points.”
