EVEN a national lockdown couldn’t stop Pride of Manchester in 2020. When Covid rules made our usual glittering red carpet event impossible, we decided that if our winners couldn’t come to the Awards, we would take the Awards to them - at a social distance of course.

Our host Kym, plus famous faces including music legend Bez, acting royalty Sue Johnston, and Mayor Andy Burnham hit the road to meet our winners all over Manchester.

Other celebrities taking part included Little Mix, Olly Murs, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Sir Ian McKellen, John Thompson, Joanna Lumley, Jack P Shepherd, Lisa Riley, Bear Grylls and Shirley

Ballas. And the heartwarming, inspirational film of the Awards won hundreds of thousands of fans on Facebook Live and YouTube.

This year, with the country back in lockdown, we are planning an even bigger and better online show - see manchesterevening news.co.uk/ for all the latest updates.
