Excited about international football? Give me a break!
I AM sure many players and managers are enjoying this international break after an enforced busy period of games, but for me as a fan international football, outside of the major tournaments, just does not have the same appeal as it used to.
Watching England beat up minnows like San Marino at odds of 1/200 just isn’t what I want to see. Whilst I am talking England though, and people will want an interest, they are 8/13 to win tomorrow night giving San Marino a six-goal start.
If you fancy a correct score, 5-0 at 5/1 and 6-0 at 11/2 are the most popular.
The international break does mean we can just take stock for a few days before the final push to the end of the season, and the talk of the Quad at City is increasing.
The Premier League is as good as done and dusted, that is why I have paid out.
Pep Guardiola’s men are 1/3 to see off Spurs and lift the Carabao Cup and with Leicester beating United on Sunday, the Blues are odds-on at 4/5 to win the FA Cup.
We now know it is Dortmund and then Bayern Munich or PSG in the semis in the Champions League, but I still make City 2/1 favourites.
So, adding those up, the chances of them winning all four is just 6/1!
I was disappointed at the manner of United’s FA Cup defeat at Leicester.
Ole made five changes from the team that beat AC Milan and I think it reiterated the need to bring in some big signings. We are only a couple of injuries away from a disaster as the strength in depth does not appear to be there. That loss leaves the Europa League as the only chance of silverware now. United are 6/4 to win it.
