Appeal after man suffers head injuries

POLICE want to identify this person after a man suffered serious head injuries following an alleged assault in Bury.

The incident happened in Whitefield on the afternoon of September 4 last year.

A man in his 30s was found with serious injuries to his head and face on

Mersey Drive.

A Gucci bag carrying £200 in cash was also stolen.

The victim remained in hospital for several days.

A 35-year-old man was later arrested and charged with single counts of robbery, section 18 assault, possession of an offensive weapon, arson, handling stolen goods, and theft of a motor vehicle.

He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at

Manchester Crown Court on June 8.

Enquiries remain ongoing and officers are appealing to anyone who knows the identity of the man pictured to contact police.

It is thought he may hold important informatio­n.
