Nev: Ronaldo won’t fear having his say

GARY Neville believes Cristiano Ronaldo won’t be afraid to have his say in the United dressing room.

Pressure is building on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the wake of yet another poor result against Leicester on Saturday, coupled with a difficult run of fixtures that will see his side take on Liverpool, City and Tottenham in their next three Premier League games.

Neville acknowledges his former team-mate Ronaldo’s will to win may ruffle some feathers behind the scenes, but insists he wouldn’t do anything to intentionally negatively affect the team.

“I don’t think Cristiano will disrupt the dressing room at all, purposely,” said the former Reds captain.

“He may disrupt people naturally through the fact he wants to win and he wants to demand standards from them, but that wouldn’t be disruptive in any strong dressing room. There’s a massive imbalance in Manchester United at the moment, the team has got far too many players who want to get on the ball and not enough players who want to do both sides of the game.

“You could put that down to the players, you could put that down to the manager, he’s got to get more out of them. But when I watch players like Mane, Firmino, De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Foden at the other top teams in the league, they’re a lot better out of possession than United are.

“United are so baggy when they’re out of possession. Every other team gets into a compact, tight shape, shows respect to the opposition. This United team disrespect the opposition by how they get into their shape.”
