UNITED RATED BY SAMUEL LUCKHURST

-

DAVID DE GEA

Was blameless for the two goals. Made a big double-save which kept United in it at 2-1.

AARON WAN-BISSAKA

Made little or no contribution at either end in the first half but embarked on a stirring run in the second. Consistent enough.

VICTOR LINDELOF

Looks like a third-choice centre-back and is hampered when his partner plays poorly. Turned by Zapata for a chance.

HARRY MAGUIRE

Dreadful positioning for both first-half goals and his slump continued. Acted as a leader with the equaliser.

LUKE SHAW

Caught out by Demiral at the corner and lax on the ball. Crossed for Cristiano Ronaldo to score the winner.

SCOTT McTOMINAY

Hit the post. Could not get to Mario Pasalic and made way for Paul Pogba just after the hour.

FRED

Drew a save from Musso and squandered an even better chance. His energy was key, but his passing was also sloppy.

MASON GREENWOOD

Pressed eagerly at the start but struggled to get properly involved in the attacks and fortunate to stay on as long.

BRUNO FERNANDES

So bad in the first half the crowd aired their exasperation. Assisted Rashford, and then his cross was lashed in by Maguire.

MARCUS RASHFORD

Squandered good openings and hit the crossbar before a cool finish. Came off with what looked like a knock.

CRISTIANO RONALDO

One of the livelier ones in the first half. Spurned an excellent chance early in the second but was there to meet Shaw’s cross.
