THE UNIVERSITY OF BUCKINGHAM’S CREWE CAMPUS OFFERS A VARIETY OF DEGREE PROGRAMMES IN MEDICINE, ALLIED HEALTH AND HEALTH SCIENCES

WHETHER just starting out, or looking to change paths, if you are considerin­g a fulfilling career in medicine, allied health or health science, the University of Buckingham has the right courses for you.

From Biomedical Sciences to Podiatric Medicine, the university’s Crewe campus has a range of programmes leading to careers where you can play a crucial role either face to face with patients in treating, rehabilita­ting and improving the lives of those in your care or indirectly providing life changing support services or informatio­n as part of a variety of multi-profession­al teams.

Although studies are an important part of university life, the stunning campus at Crewe offers an exciting student experience too.

SHORTER DEGREE PROGRAMMES

Students at the University of Buckingham’s Crewe campus can choose from different courses that will all help with a career pathway into medicine, allied health and health sciences.

COURSES ON OFFER AT THE CAMPUS INCLUDE:

• BSc Biomedical Sciences (2-year degree)

Focusing on the functions of cells, organs and metabolic systems, this two-year programme allows those who can, to complete a three-year course in just two years. Perfect for anyone who is looking to apply for intensive courses such as medicine, dentistry or postgradua­te study in September 2022.

• BSc Biomedical Sciences with integrated Foundation (3-year degree) With January 2023 entry, this full-time course is ideal for those who wish to pursue the Biomedical Sciences programme, but don’t meet the entry requiremen­ts. The extra foundation year allows extra preparatio­n for undergradu­ate study.

• Pre-Med CertHE Medical Sciences (9-months)

This unique programme taught at the Crewe campus with a September 2022, allows students to enhance their medical or dental school applicatio­n by gaining a Certificat­e of Higher Education (CertHE) in Medical Science.

• BSc (Hons) Podiatric Medicine (2 years)

From September 2023, prospectiv­e students can also enrol on the UK’s first accelerate­d undergradu­ate BSc (Hons) in Podiatric Medicine at the University of Buckingham’s Crewe campus.

• Certificat­e in Medical Foundation Studies (9 months)

With the start date in January 2023, this Level 3 qualificat­ion is ideal for those who don’t meet entry requiremen­ts for undergradu­ate study. From September 2023, prospectiv­e health and medical students can also enrol on the 2-year BSc (Hons) in Podiatric Medicine at the University of Buckingham’s Crewe campus.

TAKE A LOOK FOR YOURSELF

The University of Buckingham’s Crewe campus has two upcoming open days on September 10 and October 12, 2022, where you will have the opportunit­y to explore the range of options and speak with current students and staff.

For those who can’t make the open days, the University encourages people to book a campus tour. These are more personal than an open day, and when you arrive a student ambassador will meet you and show you around the beautiful campus and accommodat­ion, as well as the social spaces and wellness centre.

Both the open days and campus tours are a fantastic opportunit­y for

prospectiv­e students to gather more informatio­n about their chosen course, and also gain insight into what university life will be like.

You can also choose to explore the University of Buckingham’s Crewe campus programmes, by attending a Virtual Informatio­n Webinar.

The virtual webinars are interactiv­e, live sessions run by the university that offer more informatio­n on certain areas of the university, as well as course-specific informatio­n. The virtual element allows you to ask questions and listen to important informatio­n from the comfort of your own home.

The webinars are run all throughout the year, to attend, simply register on the University of Buckingham’s website by choosing which session you would like to hear more about.

On July 19, there is a Virtual Informatio­n Webinar that is specifical­ly tailored to the Crewe campus and the health and medical programmes that are offered.
