Rash: I definitely need to score more headers!

- By RICHARD FAY

MARCUS Rashford says he is looking to score even more headed goals after his winner against West Ham.

The England international scored the only goal of the match with an emphatic header.

It was a milestone for Rashford as he netted his 100th Reds goal, made even more special by the fact the match marked 85 years in succession that United have named an academy graduate in a first-team squad.

Speaking after the win, Rashford spoke of his delight and set himself the target of adding even more headed goals to his game, with only seven of his century coming that way.

“It’s probably been on my mind for the past couple of games but we’ve been winning games so I’ve been happy and just been waiting for it to come.

Thankfully today it came,” he told Sky Sports. “I need to be scoring a few more headers! Yeah definitely, I feel I have got a decent jump, I just need to work on attacking the ball and just getting the initial contact. For me, it is just about getting in the areas. I need to keep getting in the areas and I’m sure the goals will come.”

When asked if he felt more confident about scoring goals when there is so much creativity in midfield, he added: “Yeah, 100 per cent. Everyone in the midfield today, they can all cross the ball really well. Especially Bruno (Fernandes) and Chris (Eriksen). It is something you are itching for the chances to come.

“On this occasion there was only one of us in the box but usually there are two or three of us in the box.

“I have to be more aggressive when I see the ball in the air.”
