Calling all model railway enthusiast­s! The Christmas Model Railway Show is heading to Manchester

It’s less than a month now until the Manchester Model railway society fling open the doors of their annual exhibition. Their spacious, new, central Manchester venue is very easy to get to. The sugden centre is just off Oxford road and is served by 34 bus routes, 22 of which stop within 70m of the entrance. It’s only a short walk from Oxford road station and there is also a free shuttle bus to the exhibition from Piccadilly station.

The society was founded almost 100 years ago and is the third oldest in the entire world, so It has plenty of experience in staging exhibition­s.

as exhibition coordinato­r, Philip sweet, remarked:

“Our reputation for excellence, entertainm­ent and variety, means that we have visitors from all over the UK. The market research, which we do each year, shows consistent­ly that just over 7% of our visitors travel over 100 miles for their day out with us. What’s more, we’re a very environmen­tally friendly exhibition - over 70% of our visitors use public transport to reach us.

It’s obvious really, who wants to drive into the centre of Manchester when it’s so easy to come by train, bus or tram?”

This year’s exhibition is on Dec 10th & 11th, and is being held at The sugden centre, sidney street, M1 7hB, what3words: ///whites.jacket.ranks admission is just

£8.50 for adults who book in advance, and children are admitted free when with an adult. The admission price is the same as in 2019.
