CITY cannot seem to separate winning from their DNA in the 21st century.

City saw some inconsistency running at the back end of 2023, but as they have proven in the past, they are more than capable of winning a title after a run of poor form.

Current top-spot holders Liverpool are sitting five points ahead with City holding a game in hand. But despite currently sitting in third place in the league, they have various reasons to never be ruled out at any moment.

At this stage in the season, City will require all the cards in their deck to give Pep Guardiola a chance to fire up another incredible run.

Kevin De Bryune was on the bench against Sheffield United and his returning quality will be vital for the rest of the season.

The Belgian registered a ridiculous 31 assists across all competitions last season.

The return of City’s new dribbling king is also nearing as Jeremy Doku approaches his return to the squad.

The wideman has found the net only twice this season but almost as important is the fact that he’s managed the most successful dribbles in the European top five over the last year, bringing a new point of attack for his side.

The main man to return is the Norwegian Erling Haaland, as the striker suffered a stress injury in early December.

Despite being out for a month, Haaland still sits at the top of the

Premier League Golden Boot race. With three of their most dangerous players returning, City fans will be excited for the next few months as they gain a sharp edge in the title race.

With the returning heroes on the way back, City will hope it puts them in prime position to click into the gear that has made them so formidable in recent years, by going on another relentless winning run.

Last year’s treble-winning run saw City go on a 25-game unbeaten winning streak that saw them overtake Arsenal to win the League and later the FA Cup and Champions League.

City have a proven ability to chase down opponents in the lead.

During that time, City only conceded 14 times, showing their solid defensive options throughout the squad.

Arsenal witnessed this when their confidence was shattered by a late rise that saw City win 4-1 at the Etihad and go on to snatch the league from them at the final hurdle.

The Sky Blues have now won three Premier League titles in a row and Guardiola will certainly be looking to extend that to a fourth.

With City’s growing experience at hunting opponents and the return of De Bryune and Haaland, Liverpool and Arsenal fans will be feeling a bit nervous at the prospect of a City resurgence at the dawn of 2024. No one will write them off. After years of runs and wins, Guardiola and his men have made it impossible for rivals to expect anything but the impossible.
