Salford to host launch event to kick off the new campaign

WITH the Super League kick-off just weeks away, Salford Red Devils are hosting a free event at the Trafford Centre.

Tomorrow, from noon to 3pm, the Original Red Devils will be holding a club showcase in the Orient food hall, giving passers-by the opportunity to witness the season’s preparations.

Members of the club’s wheelchair, disability and women’s teams will join the men’s elite first team in an afternoon of live training sessions and interviews, hosted by Sky Sports’ Jenna Brooks.

Guests will have the opportunity to get their photo taken with the prized silverware that the players will all be wanting to lift come the end of the season – the Betfred Super League trophy.

Buoyed by the arrivals of new faces in the off-season – in particular Papua New Guinea superstar Nene Macdonald and Australian half-back Cade Cust – the Red Devils are looking ahead to the new season with optimism.

Club managing director Paul King said: “We’re so excited to be holding our season launch at the Trafford Centre.

“It’s an unbelievable opportunity to get new eyes on the club and show everyone – new and existing fans alike – what our club is all about.

“The media call us ‘The Entertainers’ for a reason and we’re pleased to lean into that by holding an event like this right in the middle of one of the busiest places in Greater Manchester.”

There will be a special ticket offer for event attendees, meaning some families would be able to attend Salford Red Devils’ first home game against Castleford Tigers on Sunday, February 25, for less than £15.

The club recently announced the rekindling of a partnership with the Trafford Centre, meaning tomorrow’s launch could be the first of many events held by the Red Devils at the mall.
