Guardiola will be greatest if he wins a double Treble...

-

I’M STILL hedging my bets on who is the greatest manager – Sir Alex Ferguson or Pep Guardiola.

But I tell you what, if City beat Arsenal at the Etihad on Sunday and go on and win the double Treble then it’s got to be the Blues boss.

I’m convinced City – even with widespread injury concerns – will win at the weekend basically because their players are better in virtually every position.

Fergie had a great advantage, as in his era of United dominance, the Reds had by far the most money compared with their rivals.

Our history surrounding the Busby Babes helped pack Old Trafford for every single game – and that boosted our coffers big time.

Regarding the future of current United boss Erik ten Hag, well I’d give him at least another season. He inherited a basket case but has gradually been turning it around.

He’s building a new team – and that takes time. With England bright spark Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho, we have two teenagers who have the world at their feet.

Garnacho is an attractive 8/1 at Betfred to score the opener at Brentford tomorrow as United continue their battle with two other inconsistent sides – Aston Villa and Spurs – for a top-four Premier League finish.

For Sunday, Betfred have City odds on to beat the Gunners – and the Blues 7/1 for the Treble.

Erling Haaland is 11/4 favourite with us to score the opener with Phil Foden at 13/2 for the first goal.

Liverpool, who host Brighton on Sunday, are 4/1 for their Treble. In the latest title odds, Betfred have City the 23/20 favourites with Liverpool at 2/1 and the Gunners at 12/5.

Meanwhile in Betfred Super League this weekend it’s the traditional Good Friday Saints v Wigan showdown. We have St Helens the odds on favourites for both points but still have Wigan 5/4 favourites to win the 2024 Grand Final. Saints are 12/5 to be champions with the Wolves and Dragons both at 8/1.

For tomorrow’s Halliwell Jones encounter we have Wire at 4/7 to win with man of the moment Matt Dufty at 10/1 for the opening try. Catalans are at 6/4 to triumph.
