Championship Final Day

The CHAMPIONSHIP comes to a close this week ahead of the mega exciting play-offs, so MATCH looks back at the story of the 2020-21 season!

EPIC TITLE RACE!

After 30 games in 2020-21, just four points separated Norwich in top spot and Brentford in third, with second-placed Swansea and fourth-placed Watford also in a real race for the Champo title! It all changed in February, though – The Canaries went on an epic 13-game unbeaten run and just had The Hornets chasing them!

PROMOTION HOPEFULS!

The Championship play-offs are always jam-packed with tense, action-packed drama! Brentford, Bournemouth, Swansea and Barnsley will all battle it out for the final promotion spot, and it’s really tough to predict a favourite. Barely anything separates them in the table, so it’s gonna be tight!

GOLDEN BOOT BATTLE!

Former Peterborough striker Ivan Toney is in line to win back-to-back Golden Boots after finishing as League One’s top goalscorer last season, unless Canaries goal king Teemu Pukki does a madness this weekend! Blackburn’s Adam Armstrong and Cardiff’s Kieffer Moore have been lethal this season too!

RELEGATION TROUBLES!

It was always gonna be tough for Wycombe in their first-ever season in the Championship, while Sheffield Wednesday started the season with a six-point deduction! We weren’t shocked to see newly-promoted Rotherham struggle this season, but we definitely didn’t expect Derby to have such a shocker!
