ENGLAND v IVORY COAST
TALKING POINT
Providing he features, our eyes will be on Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha! The skilful winger actually played 15 matches for England’s youth teams and twice for the senior side back in 2012 and 2013. Both of those games were friendlies though, meaning he could still swap to represent his country of birth – Ivory Coast – which is exactly what he did!
THE GAME
Ivory Coast had a disaster in qualifying, meaning they won’t be at the 2022 World Cup! Things didn’t go much better at the AFCON, either – they won their group but went out in the round of 16 on penalties. They do have proven talent in the likes of Franck Kessie, Maxwel Cornet, Nicolas Pepe and Sebastien Haller!
HEAD-TO-HEAD
Believe it or not, this will be the first time ever that England are going to face Ivory Coast at senior level! That means whoever wins the game will officially have a 100% record against the other!
