The 2021 Women’s Ballon d’Or winner Alexia Putellas goes in to the final as this season’s WCL joint-leading scorer! The Barcelona star needs one goal to beat Wolfsburg’s Tabea Wassmuth, while Lyon’s top scorer in this season’s competition is USA striker Catarina Macario on seven net-busters!

2. BARCA BOSSES!

Reigning WCL champs Barcelona have dominated women’s football over the past 12 months! They were crowned Spanish league title winners way back in March – winning 27 out of 27 games and scoring 146 goals – and could be on course to win the quadruple, with the Copa de la Reina final still to play at the end of May as well!

3. THE VENUE!

The mega match is taking place in Turin at the home of Italian giants Juventus! The 41,507-capacity Juventus Stadium is hosting its second UEFA final after previously staging the 2014 Men’s Europa League final. It also makes it the second Women’s CL final held in Italy after Lyon lifted the trophy in Reggio Emilia in 2016!

4. LYON’S RECORD!

Barcelona are probably the most feared women’s side in the world right now, but that doesn’t mean you can rule out Lyon! The French title chasers have won more WCL trophies than any other side in history, including a record five in a row and seven of the last 11 tournaments. Quality figures!

5. HEAD-TO-HEAD!

They actually met in the 2018-19 Women’s Champions League final in Budapest! The French club thrashed Barcelona 4-1 in Hungary, with baller Ada Hegerberg netting a first-half hat-trick. The Spanish side have improved loads since then so they’ve got their eyes on revenge in Italy!
