CHAMPO LEAGUE PREVIEWS!
takes a look at five of the biggest and best Champo League group-stage games happening over the next fortnight!
AC MILAN v CHELSEA
Chelsea last visited the world-famous San Siro stadium in the 2009-10 Champions League campaign, when they lost 2-1 to Inter! The last time they played Milan there was even longer ago – back in 1999. Unfortunately for The Blues, they haven’t won on any of their four trips to the ground!
CELTIC v RB LEIPZIG
This is Celtic’s second home match of the group stage after their opening round defeat to reigning champions Real Madrid! The home supporters will have more positive vibes ahead of this one after beating the Bundesliga club 2-1 at Celtic Park in the 2018-19 Europa League group stage!
RANGERS v LIVERPOOL
It’s a massive week of European footy in Glasgow, with Rangers hosting Liverpool a day after their Old Firm rivals’ clash with RB Leipzig! The atmosphere should be electric for Liverpool’s firstever visit to Ibrox, especially as Gers fans will want to match the previous round’s noise at Anfield!
BARCELONA v INTER
Barcelona have won their previous five Champions League matches v Inter at the Nou Camp, with centre-back Gerard Pique oddly scoring in two of those games. The veteran defender might not even get on the pitch this time around as Xavi continues to favour a more youthful starting XI!
TOTTENHAM v EINTRACHT FRANKFURT
We’ve heard there could be a massive tifo in Spurs’ south stand ahead of this crucial clash, which should help get the players and supporters well up for the occasion! The Frankfurt fans are also known to be some of the loudest in the Bundesliga, so the ground could reach record noise levels!
