SNOWDON – RHYD DDU

From May to the end of September Snowdon has a voluntary ban on bikes between 10am and 5pm. With the ban now lifted it’s time to return to one of the toughest trails in North Wales – Rhyd Ddu. There are a couple of ways down Snowdon but this is by far the most challenging. From stalling-speed technical challenges to eye-watering high-speed sections, it’s a trail that works your head and body in equal measure; often wet and with a penalty for cutting corners, it’s much like a DH course. Although the voluntary ban has been lifted, Snowdon is a busy place even in winter, so a pre-dawn ascent is vital if you want a clean run.
