CREATING MOMENTUM

-

Once you have a gauge of how you much grip you have, and you’re starting to be able to feel when it’s under or over what you can manage, then you can start thinking about driving yourself out the other side with a powerful completion of the turn. In order for this drive to happen though, you need to be on the right side of your grip. If you are already stressing the tyres then you have to go lighter in order to get back on the right side of that grip. If you are under the effort required to break traction then there is a lot more available and plenty of room for you to pile on the strength and pump out the exit.

?? ?? Look how Andy is pushing with his legs so hard here that he’s starting to lose grip with the back wheel
As soon as he comes off the pressure a split-second later the grip returns.
This is the same dynamic movement that you’ll see on loose surfaces and slippery features

?? ?? Be prepared by getting close to your bike on the approach. The more range of motion you have, the more time you will have to gauge the amount of grip you have
