OVERALL GOAL

-

In a nutshell, your overall goal in any corner shouldn’t be to do the corner itself fast, but instead to focus on driving the maximum amount of momentum out of the other side. After all, the more speed you can carry out of a turn the less effort needed to get back up to speed. Be patient on the way in, and focus on making a shape that will allow you to gauge how much grip you have. The lower and closer you are to your bike while this is happening, the more time you’ll have mid-turn to react. As the corner progresses, power up your legs to initially balance that extra force acting upon you, then as you exit the turn, pile on more pressure by being stronger with your legs so that you can balance that available grip with winding up a good pump for the exit.
