PREPARING FOR EVENTS
Entering an event isn’t really about the event itself. Not for us, anyway. It’s more about the journey – it gives you focus and acts as something to aim for. As long as you allow yourself to commit to it, you can use a challenge like this to stay sober on a Saturday night, get out of bed early to train twice a week, or even tidy up your diet. Taking all this time to yourself might be a tricky one to explain to your better half, but being selfish a couple of times a week will allow you to get in better shape, give you something healthy to pursue, and more importantly, allow you to feel good about yourself. Encouraging your partner to pursue something similar might sweeten the deal, so why not take turns in supporting each other? It might lead to a healthier situation for both of you.
