Same geometry, but different
As test bikes go, the Forbidden Druid and Deviate Highlander 140 couldn’t be much closer; BB heights, chainstay lengths and effective seat angles are nigh-on identical. It’s only when we take a closer look at the reach measurement and head angle that we see the bikes begin to diverge. The Druid has a 0.6° slacker head angle and the Highlander has 9mm longer reach. So while the fit and steering response are slightly different, the resulting front centre measurements are actually pretty similar. Thanks to its longer top tube and extra reach the Deviate feels like a bigger bike, but the Druid actually offers more balanced handling.
