FIND YOUR FOOTING
Hi, as a mountain biker of many years. I sadly find it hard to ride as much due to metatarsalgia of the foot, similar to Morton’s neuroma. Pressure on the pedal creates pain in the foot. I mainly Zwift now as I can’t manage any slopes and may have to give up completely if I can’t find the correct pedal.
I know of two other people my age (57) who also struggle with this and assume it’s quite a common reason why people have to stop cycling. I read it’s very common with people with larger feet, on a small pedal, I’m a size 13 myself. I’ve been trying to find someone in the
UK that sells something like Catalyst Pedals in the
US. At about 140mm long, they would be ideal for people like me who would desperately want to continue cycling into older age. So my question is, do you know of anyone in the UK who produce a similar pedal.
Ed – We’ve actually reviewed the Pedalling Innovations Catalyst pedal (the review is on mbr. co.uk) back when there was a UK distributor. That no longer seems to be the case, but it appears that Pedalling Innovations ships worldwide, so head to pedalinginnovations.com and hopefully you can get a pair sent to the UK.
