VITUS SOMMET 29 CRX

£3,599.99

We’ve already mentioned that the top-end CRX has Fox Factory-level suspension, but what other upgrades does it have over the test-winning CRS? The SLX drivetrain and brakes get replaced by XT, the multi-release feature on the shifter allowing you to drop down two gears at a time. The DT Swiss wheels go from E1900 to lighter EX1700. All worthy upgrades then, but it’s the ability to fine-tune the suspension that will make the biggest difference.

VITUS SOMMET 27 CR

£2,399.99

The entry point to the Sommet range is the CR. And just like all of the other Sommets, it gets a carbon front end and comes in a choice of 27.5in or 29in wheels. On the 27.5in bike, rear travel is increased from 162mm to 170mm, and it also has slightly different geometry to the 29er, the most pronounced difference being the shorter 435mm chainstay length. Best of all, you still get the top-quality Maxxis tyres and a 12-speed Shimano drivetrain with a wide-range 10-51t cassette.
