Big picture

After the pandemic shut down the world in late May 2020, I joined close friends Blake Sommer and Jack Graham and hit the road for Southern Utah. For a week, our only motivation was to capture the best imagery possible. Throughout the week, Blake and Jack trusted my vision, and on our sixth day, I wanted to assure a fun line for them to share. Jagged and defined, the beautiful “Bark Fin’’ demanded our attention. Scouring the hillside, I discovered a perfect window of rock to take the shot. Blake and Jack ripped down into the flats with a flurry of excitement. I love how this perspective guides the viewer’s eye towards the riders.
