RYOBI 18V ONE+ CORDLESS 22 BAR POWER WASHER KIT £139.99

-

The best time to wash your bike is straight after a ride, while the mud is still fresh and easy to spray off. It’s a nice idea but, like pairing your socks straight out of the dryer, it just never seems to happen.

Until now, anyway, because the Power Washer is going to change all that for you. The unit is cordless and runs on a big 4Ah battery, which is pretty much essential if you’re going to take it in your car with you. PEAK DISTRICT 29.8KM (18.5 MILES)

The original National Park. In 1932 it was here that ramblers led by Benny Rothman performed an act of wilful mass trespass on Kinder Scout in protest of the working man’s lack of access to the countryside, eventually paving the way for the formation of the National Parks. If only he’d ridden up there, mountain bikers might enjoy better access rights…

This route is a Peak classic, taking in some of the best descents and views that surround Ladybower Reservoir. GPS download bit.ly/peakdistrictride

SNOWDONIA 22.5KM (14 MILES)

The largest of Wales’s National

Parks, Snowdonia has long been a favourite amongst riders, its namesake mountain, Snowdon (or Yr Wyddfa in Welsh), the main attraction. Biggest doesn’t always mean best, of course, but Wales’s highest peak is always worth the effort. The ride/push up from Llanberis is pretty straightforward but the way back down again is anything but – bring your tech skills with you for this one. Also bring a jacket, food and, if the weather is looking iffy, an emergency shelter.
