DIFFERENT TRACK SURFACES

-

Understanding that different trail surfaces offer different amounts of grip is a massive skill in itself and requires years of experience. Some dirt works really well in the dry. Some dirt works well in the wet. Depending on what you’re used to riding you may find that when you go somewhere else you really struggle to trust the grip initially. This is totally normal. That said, it’s not uncommon for riders from drier climates to be good in the wet and viceversa. This is because a lot of the handling characteristics in dusty conditions work well on soaking wet trails. Here we’ll list some more common trail surfaces and conditions, and how to read them better.
