How we test
More and more disc brakes are being sold as pick and mix, meaning you buy the caliper/lever assembly then add a rotor of your choice. This means most manufacturers have stopped including the cost of rotors or adapters in the overall price of their brakes, so we’ve worked this bit out for you. If applicable, we’ve also included the weight of a 200mm rotor and the lever and caliper, but not the adapters, because you may not need those. We haven’t factored in the cost of a bleed kit, but you may need one of those too because brakes are often sold un-cut, as two separate parts that you have to put together yourself, and it’s always good to bleed the system after fitting.
