What you should be doing when you see a difficult trail for the first time is keeping your head over the stem and getting closer to your bike. This extra range of motion is how you’ll manage any instability caused by the trail. Hopefully the following checklist will help to keep you thinking about the things you should be doing the next time you’re on your way into a challenging section.
