FASTER DROPS

-

More technical trails will often have features that are mandatory. If a mediumto-large drop comes out of nowhere then you’re likely to freeze if you’re not expecting it. Stay relaxed and set up low and you’ll have more time to do it smoothly. Riding off a drop with speed is best done by keeping your wheels level. This is best thought of as a manual. Try not to come in fast and just lift your bike up off the ground. Although this will work above a certain speed, it will often result in your rear wheel tagging the drop and sending you forwards, and will also contribute to a heavy landing. Do more of a manual by starting low on the approach and pushing your bike forwards, and your drop will become smoother and more predictable. Remember to get low to begin with and to push with your legs as well as your arms.
