Path of enlightenment
Run through the numbers on the geometry chart and the Forbidden Dreadnought and GT Force look similar. Ride the bikes, however, and it is clear they are very different animals. With a more rearward axle path, the chainstay length on the Forbidden grows by 15mm at sag and stretches to 30mm at bottom-out. That elongation of the swingarm not only makes the wheelbase longer, it also changes the weight distribution of the bike to give the Dreadnought a more forward weight bias. As such, the rider instinctively moves their weight rearward to compensate, which making the front end feel longer. So if you’re looking for a more dynamic ride from the
Forbidden, it would be wise to err on the side of caution when choosing your frame size.
