LEWIS BUCHANAN: NORCO RANGE

Another rider trying his hand at downhill racing (again) this year is Lewis Buchanan on a Norco Range, a bike that underwent a complete frame redesign in 2021 to feature – you’ve guessed it – a high pivot and idler.

Out went the old Horst-link suspension layout and instead there’s a low-slanted shock configuration, bedded into the down tube, and all models in the range come with coil shocks. You might be forgiven for thinking the Range really is a downhill bike then.

Lewis also has form here, racing for Forbidden in 2020 aboard the Druid, and while he didn’t appear on the

Lourdes start list for 2022, we know his intention was to diversify from enduro and return to downhill racing – like the Red Bull Hardline, where he finished 12th last year.
