TACTICAL FIRE ROAD CROSSING
It’s easy to have a goal in mind at the top of a trail, but as soon as it gets technical our minds will snap back into survival mode and, even with the best intentions, we’ll be back to our same old habits. In order to avoid this you’re going to have to build reflective breaks in your descending so that you can look back on what’s just happened and snap back to your plan. Common goals to focus on will be your neutral body position, where you are pulling the brakes, and what you are looking at on the trail. There might be more advantages in coasting an open section of trail and reminding yourself to drive your body weight against the things that you can trust, instead of frantically closing the gap between you and your buddy and continuing to make more mistakes further down the track.
