CREATIVITY

-

Mastering techniques like bunny hops and jumps allows you to read the trail in a completely different way, opening up more room for originality and imagination. This heavy/light approach to how you tackle the different parts of a trail offers more creativity because you can start to link all the grippy sections together and forget about the rougher features that normally catch a rider’s eye. In order to get the hang of it, try hopping over chunky roots or rocks by staying low on the way in and driving away from the trail with your legs. This deliberate pressure against the trail will create traction and allow you to go light over the thing you’re trying to avoid. After a bit of practise you’ll be seeing the heavy/light lines everywhere and the roots that your pals describe on a section won’t even be entering into your mind.
