Bike Yoke sells the Revive dropper as a post, meaning the price above doesn’t include the Triggy remote. That’ll set you back an extra £45, and if you want to mount it independently of the brake lever, you’ll also need the split bar clamp for another £10. All told it’s not the cheapest cable dropper on test, but the Revive is in a different league when it comes to quality and function.

The Revive has a compact head with twin fixing bolts which are offset, so you can actually get a regular multi-tool in there to make adjustments, even at the trailhead. The shaft is hard anodised and sinks into a 18mm tall collar. So, for a 160mm dropper, the Revive has an incredibly low stack.

The post is activated by a Triggy remote, which runs on a sealed cartridge bearing, so there’s no hint of flex or play. The lever has a comfortable profile and doesn’t have an excessive amount of throw. It also has four-axis adjustment and even comes with SRAM Matchmaker compatibility. Oddly the inner cable is anchored at both ends – there’s a (barrel-style) cable anchor assembly at the bottom with a derailleur-style pinch bolt at the lever, but cut lines etched into the bottom of the shaft let you know the exact length needed.

The reason the Revive has such a plush action is because of its slightly different internal design. Most dropper posts have an IFP (Internal floating piston) to separate the air and oil, and while that design is generally more reliable, it can make the post feel sluggish. Bike Yoke’s system does away with the IFP, so it glides up and down more easily. And you can still purge the system when the air/oil do inevitably mix via the reset lever on the head.

The quality of the Bike Yoke Revive is outstanding, but what makes it such a joy to use is the incredibly smooth action and low stack height, meaning you can squeeze this dropper into a frame with a short seat tube. Literally you’re getting more drop for your money.
