‘Built for laughs and nothing else’

-

Best ride Back in the summer I was ridding back from Cambridge and had decided to cut through the lanes rather than buzzing up the M11, A14 and A1. Good decision as the roads were clear and grippy.

Longest day You wouldn’t strap a barrel of brandy round a greyhound’s neck and send it up a mountain, nor would you send a St Bernard round a race track chasing a hare. With this in mind, I have only taken day trips. What hurts first? My arse is always the first body part to scream ‘let’s have a break!’ Anything to confess? I rode it in the slower modes for the first day and wondered why I was not in the least bit impressed with the performance.

High point Once I had personalised the riding modes to suit me, it transformed the bike.

Low point It’s not happened yet. What do you most admire? I love the pure power and acceleration, it brings a smile to my face every time I join a motorway.

What’s it really good at? It launches itself coming out of roundabouts and is so flickable.

And really bad at? Not doing wheelies in sport mode! What’s fallen off? All is well. What irritates? When riding at a slow, constant speed in sport mode I can feel the engine searching.

What did you think at the beginning? I loved the design.

And what do you think now? This bike fits my 6ft 1in frame perfectly. It feels like an extension of my body.
