Ninja H2 SX SE+ gets semi-active suspension and performance upgrades
If last year’s Ninja H2 SX SE wasn’t advanced enough for you with its supercharger this and IMU that, Kawasaki have introduced a few new tweaks to push the H2 SX family even further into ‘every box ticked’ hyper-tourer territory with the addition of semiactive electronic suspension. This is based on the same system designed by Showa for the ZX-10R, but tuned for the H2’s own peculiarities. With base characteristics linked to the riding modes, the suspension automatically adjusts the damping to suit the road conditions, with reaction times of just 1 millisecond. The preload can also be adjusted with three modes (Rider Only, Rider with Luggage and Rider with Passenger and Luggage), with small adjustments either way. The range-topping SE★ bests the standard SE in other ways too, including the addition of the latest must-have Brembo Stylema radial calipers (a welcome upgrade considering the ownbrand versions on the SE aren’t amazing), and a series of updates to the TFT dash to give Bluetooth smartphone connectivity. It also gets integrated riding modes, which link the traction control, power mode and suspension together to give the rider simple menu choices that set the bike up rapidly for changing road or weather conditions.
It’s the ultimate super-spec’d supercharged super-tourer.
