Superlight
650cc parallel twin 105bhp and 55ftlb 158kg (kerb) £19,950
Built to compete in the lightweight class at the Isle of Man TT, the new Superlight is no budget 600cc supersport replica aimed at showroom wars; it’s the real deal.
It’s all about light weight, superb handling, and using every one of its 105bhp. The Superlight will cost £19,950 and for that you’ll get a roadlegal version of the bike you’ll see John McGuinness pointing over the Mountain Course at this year’s Lightweight TT. For a supersport offering, it’s exceptionally highly spec’d: as the price would suggest. It’s all-carbon bodywork is near-identical to the V4 RR and SS, although it’s a marginally smaller bike in almost all dimensions. The frame is a near exact clone of the V4’s, with concessions to the more compact nature of the parallel-twin 650, which is shorter than the V4. The basic architecture is the same though, as is the laborious but stunning mirror finish. The wheels are the same seven-spoke BST carbon fibre rims as the RR, and the single-sided swingarm is identical to the V4’s as are the fullyadjustable Öhlins NIX30 fork, bespoke TTXGP monoshock, and steering damper. It has to be the hottest supersport twin ever built and MCN is hoping to get a go soon!
