‘Leave our riding trails alone’

-

Since I’ve been fit I’ve been itching to get out on my enduro bike and this winter I’ve been loaned a KTM by a local dealership so I’ve been able to get out quite a bit.

I love riding the trails, but every time we go out we’re finding more and more have been closed. It’s a crying shame. There are a lot of big, empty areas but at the minute, there’s clearly someone who wants to make life difficult for anybody with a motorbike. It’s not fair. We’re a decent bunch, it’s not

‘AT LEAST WE STOP TO BUY PIE AND FUEL FROM LOCAL SHOPS’

just lunatics who ride off-road bikes wanting to make a noise and wreck everything. There’s no compromise, it’s just ‘we’re shutting it, that’s it’. There’s no, ‘oh well you can use it on these days at these times’, it’s just a flat ‘no, this trail is closed’.

There are hundreds and hundreds of miles of trails but they’re making it superdifficult when they close them. There’s no give and take, it’s such a shame. I find it difficult to express it as I get so mad! We put petrol in our bikes, we’ll stop at the pub for pie and chips and we’re putting back into the community while the people moaning about us, let’s say Mr Rambler, what do they bring back to the party when they’re sat on their bench with their flask and sandwiches?

We have to be considerate… like I don’t go out when the kids are off school because you can’t be tearing around on an enduro bike with kids about as the last thing I want is to hurt someone. Enduro riding is a sport, you’re never going to stop people from doing it and if you start making it more difficult that’s when you start making things more dangerous.
