Some of the bikers were scary-looking dudes but they all made my little lad feel like a star for the night and he ended up with loads of freebies.” Both Martin Buck and Philip Weston are members of the Iron Butt Association and have the date in their diaries already. “Last year was the first time I’d been to the MCN Festival,” said BMW R1200GS rider, Martin. “I loved the camaraderie of camping with my fellow IBA UK riders. We’re already discussing plans for this year. The IBA UK stand will be at the Festival, so I’m intending to be there with friends.”
“It’s a great social event with loads to do and see” commented Philip. “I’ll be going this year and camping on the IBA UK club stand. I love being able to experience all aspects of motorcycling. There’s test rides, manufacturer stands and some great flat-track racing.” Martin added: “The evening entertainment was good and having real ale on offer was an unexpected bonus.” Meanwhile Phillip shied away from the large jugs of ale, going in search of a much-loved mug of tea.
