THE LESSON
Angle of attack
After a 30-year break, Derek was positioning himself at junctions in the same way as he would in a car. When turning right he was placing his bike in the centre of his lane, which was leaving him with a sharp turn to make.
Rounding the corner
Mark shows Derek a technique taught to police riders; replicate the angle used when following the kerb at a left-hand turn so that the bike’s front wheel is pointing in the intended direction of travel.
