‘It’s all about road position ’

“This simple tip has instantly taken the hardship out of righthand junctions. I’d been struggling with them for some time but I couldn’t work out why. It was only when Mark pointed it out to me that I realised what I’d been doing. As a car driver I’d just been positioning my bike in the same way as I would my car, so I was inadvertently making things harder for myself – which was especially apparent when I was fully loaded and with my wife on the back. “Making sure my riding is as safe and smooth as it can be is of massive importance to me because I do so much riding with my wife on the back and I need to be absolutely as good as I can be in order to keep her feeling safe and happy so that we can continue spending time together on the bike. And the good thing is that I can practise this little tip on every ride and it’ll soon become second nature. So I have to say a big thanks to instructor Mark for picking up on it.”
