Hear from people who knew Sheene
Alongside this evocative collection of bikes and memorabilia we’re also inviting along two people who have an unrivalled insight into Barry Sheene’s Grand Prix career and the machines he rode.
Steve Parrish needs little introduction. Sheene’s team-mate in 1976-77, Parrish has a vast knowledge of Sheene’s life and fascinating anecdotes about the double world champ’s dogged determination on the track and his playboy lifestyle off it. Martyn Ogborne was Sheene’s chief technician during his world championship winning years and nobody has a better understanding of these beautiful machines and what it took to keep them competitive in the dog eat dog era of the 1970s and 80s. After Sheene retired, Martyn went on to work with other racing greats such as Kevin Schwantz and Randy Mamola.
