Hutchy was on the official Tyco BMW bike and Michael was on his own BMW, but it was Michael that did a 133.9mph lap and he won it fairly comfortably. Hutchy had won the Superstock and done a 133mph lap which is why he opted to run the stock engine in the Senior even though he had a full Superbike spec engine. But what made it such an interesting race was the fact that there was such needle between Hutchy and Dunlop all week. It was the year that Dunlop got disqualified from the Supersport race. I was in the 600 press conference and you could cut the atmosphere with a knife. Hutchy has always found it hard to beat Michael on a Superbike and that day was no different. For me, the best man won on the day.
