BMW F850GS Adventure

The bike most 1250 buyers would probably be happier riding...

-

The F850GS Adventure takes pretty much any terrain in its stride. With a big fuel tank, decent weather protection and great ergonomics it’s capable of taking you wherever you want in comfort whether that’s on or off-road. One of the Adventure’s biggest achievements is that it’s retained its off-road abilities despite the extra weight over the standard GS. While the tank is bigger it remains narrow where you need it so you can get your feet on the ground.

With a claimed 95bhp at 8250rpm from the parallel twin, 853cc motor, the F850GSA isn’t at all intimidating. Power and torque delivery both feel smooth and linear across the entire rev range and while that might not mean it’s super-exciting, it complements the BMW’s overall package well as it’s ultimately what is required from a bike designed to be all things to all riders.

A genuine world-crosser for those without massive egos to pander to.
