RIDE SOUTH

Heading out from the picturesque town of Rye on the south coast, wind your way towards Camber and Lydd before heading East for a quick dash around Ashford to Boughton Lees where you can pick up the Pilgrim’s Way and follow the North Downs on a mix of byways and nadgery lanes through Charing and continuing off-road all the way to Hollingbourne. Then weave your way through to Snodland and track the Pilgrims Way all the way to Kemsing on this easily navigable byway. Head into Otford, then take the A25 into Sevenoaks, and the B2042 through Ide Hill, on past Hever Castle down to Hartfield, Lye Green and Crowborough before arcing back East through Frant and Lamberhurst to Flimwell on the A21. Hook left on the flowing A268 and roll through the gentle hills an sinuous turns all the way back down to Rye. It’s a fabulous mix of fast sweeping A and B-roads and mile upon mile of byways.
